District 52 Announces eLearning Day on Friday, January 10 Due to Inclement Weather

In response to the potential for inclement weather in our local area, Greenwood School District 52 has scheduled an eLearning Day for Friday, January 10, 2024. All schools will be closed and students and staff will not report to school. Additionally, all after-school activities and athletic events on Friday, January 10 are canceled.

Per the Greenwood Emergency Preparedness Center, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch beginning Friday morning until Saturday morning for our area. Total snow and sleet accumulations between 1 and 3 inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch are expected. Snow and ice accumulations will make many roads dangerous and the weight of the snow and ice on tree limbs and power lines could result in power outages.

E-Learning assignments will be posted to Google Classroom or Class Dojo for all students grades K-12. Completion of the work will count as the day’s attendance. Students should complete all assigned work from their teacher. Teachers will be available via email/Dojo during the day.
